ABOUT WMS

Our Workshop Milonga Sevilla (WMS) began in 2009 as a small, humble, local event. Year after year, it grew in size, prestige, maturity, number of attendees, and international atmosphere. This evolution earned it the nickname "Tango Festival," establishing it as a leading tango festival, featuring renowned teachers and dancers, tango DJs, and live orchestras in some editions.

Over the course of the 14 editions of the WMS Tango Festival, virtually all the most renowned tango master couples on the international scene have participated. We are proud to have brought to Seville, so far removed from the epicenter of European tango, something that seemed like a difficult dream to achieve.

Our city, with its unparalleled tourist appeal, has been the perfect setting. But what moves us most is seeing so many participants return time and again, telling us how much they enjoyed it, becoming like one big family.

Many may have wondered why we didn't celebrate what should have been our 15th edition in 2025. We don't want to leave it without an explanation. The reality is that, due to a confluence of changes occurring in the economic and social landscape, as well as shifts in fashion and trends within the world of tango events, coupled with our own personal and family circumstances, we decided to take a break. This year has been a time of reflection and transformation for us, and for the event itself, it clearly represents a turning point.

Thus, after 12 years in the same location, WMS is changing its headquarters hotel and taking advantage of this moment of change to transform itself into a freer format that better reflects our essence. We want to infuse the event with a festive atmosphere and positive energy, leaving behind the excessive formality and etiquette, and the need for a packed lineup of artists typically expected in a festival format. From now on, we will be called “Tango Fiesta,” because what we seek is to highlight enjoyment and authenticity, to leave behind the facades and simply share and have a good time together. In February 2026, we will celebrate our 15th edition. Our history, our experience as organizers, and above all, the passion with which we do it, are, we believe, our best calling card. We await you with open arms, with all our enthusiasm and affection.
